【摘要】:Thethermalresistanceandevaporativeresistanceprovidedbyafabric,batting,orothertypeofmaterialisofconsiderableimportanceindeterminingitssuitabilityforuseinfabricatingprotectiveclothingsystems.Thethermalinterchangebetweenpeopleandtheirenvironmentis,however,anextremelycomplicatedsubjectthatinvolvesmanyfactorsinadditiontothesteady-stateresistancevaluesoffabricsandbattings.Therefore,thermalresistancevaluesandevaporativeresistancevaluesmeasuredonahotplatemayormaynotindicaterelativemeritofaparticularmaterialorassemblyforagivenclothingapplication.Whileapossibleindicatorofclothingperformance,measurementsproducedbythetestingoffabricshasnoprovencorrelationtotheperformanceofclothingsystemswornbypeople.Clothingweight,drape,tightnessoffit,andsoforth,canminimizeorevenneutralizetheapparentdifferencesbetweenfabricsorfabricassembliesmeasuredbythistestmethod.ThethermalresistanceofclothingsystemscanbemeasuredwithaheatedmanikininanenvironmentalchamberinaccordancewithTestMethodF1291.DeparturesfromtheinstructionsofTestMethodF1868mayleadtosignificantlydifferenttestresults.Technicalknowledgeconcerningthetheoryofheatflow,temperaturemeasurement,andtestingpracticesisneededtoevaluatewhichdeparturesfromtheinstructionsaresignificant.Standardizationofthemethodreduces,butdoesnoteliminatetheneedforsuchtechnicalknowledge.ReportanydeparturesfromtheinstructionsofTestMethodF1868withtheresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthethermalresistanceandtheevaporativeresistanceundersteady-stateconditions,offabrics,films,coatings,foams,andleathers,includingmulti-layerassemblies,foruseinclothingsystems.1.2Therangeofthismeasurementtechniqueforthermalresistanceisfrom0.002to0.2K-m2/Wandforevaporativeresistanceisfrom0.01to1.0kPa-m2/W.1.3ThevaluesinSIunitsshallberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
